Mold can have serious effects on both human health and the structure of a building. Exposure to mold can lead to respiratory issues, allergies, and asthma symptoms — especially in individuals with weakened immune systems or pre-existing conditions. Prolonged exposure to certain mold types can cause severe health problems.

Beyond health risks, mold growth can cause significant structural damage to walls, ceilings, and building materials, weakening the integrity of your property and leading to costly repairs.

Prompt identification and remediation are crucial to maintain a healthy, safe, and structurally sound environment. Our mold testing services cover:

  • Air Sampling: Measures airborne mold spore concentrations throughout your property.
  • Surface Sampling: Identifies specific mold types and concentrations on building materials.
  • Accredited Lab Analysis: All samples are sent to certified laboratories for comprehensive analysis.
  • Detailed Report: A full written report outlining findings, mold types, and concentrations detected.
  • Remediation Recommendations: Professional guidance on effective strategies if mold is found.

At RedFish Inspections, we use air and surface sampling to identify the specific types and concentrations of mold present in your property. Samples are carefully collected and sent to accredited laboratories for comprehensive analysis. Once testing is complete, we provide a detailed report that outlines our findings.

We also believe in client education — our team will explain the entire testing process, answer your questions, and provide practical advice on mold prevention going forward.

What is the difference between mold testing and mold remediation?

Mold testing (assessment) identifies whether mold is present, what types, and at what concentration levels. Mold remediation is the physical removal and cleanup process. RedFish Inspections performs the testing; we then recommend qualified licensed remediation contractors if needed.

How long does a mold inspection take?

Most residential mold inspections take 1–2 hours. Larger commercial properties may take longer. Lab results typically return within 2–5 business days, after which your full report is delivered.

Do I need mold testing if I can already see mold?

Visible mold should absolutely be addressed, but testing is still valuable. It identifies the exact species (some are more hazardous than others), measures the full extent of airborne contamination, and documents the problem for insurance or legal purposes.

Can mold be present even if I don't see or smell it?

Yes. Mold often grows inside walls, under flooring, or in attic and crawl spaces where it is not visible. Air sampling can detect elevated spore levels even when there is no visible mold growth.

Is RedFish Inspections licensed to perform mold assessments in Texas?

Yes. Our mold assessors are licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), as required by Texas state law for all mold assessment activities.
